Special Activities

Every day at Pierce ‘Private Day School, your child will have a ‘special’ activity that is included in the tuition.

On Mondays, we have Assembly.  This is a time for our students and teachers to come together to praise and worship God!  The children enjoy singing and dancing to fun Christian songs as we lift up Jesus.  During each Assembly, the students have a Bible lesson that will show them how God wants us to live
in our daily lives.  At the end of Assembly we all join hands, sing one more song and say a prayer together. Assembly
is a great way for our school to get the week started reminding all of us that we are standing for Jesus!

On Tuesdays, each class will have 20 minutes of Gymnastics.  The children will learn some
Gymnastics positions and vocabulary as well as play games with scarves, hula hoops, balloons
and more.  Gymnastics is great for teaching the children about following directions and a love and
appreciation for fitness and health.

On Wednesdays, the classes alternate week to week between Story Time and Art.
On the weeks they have Story Time, the students will explore different books and stories
through various ways. The children are encouraged to make predictions and discuss
what happened in the story.  Our goal is for the students to build a foundation for
reading comprehension and a passion for books.

During Art, your child will experiment with color, shape and texture.  The students
will explore different art techniques learning an appreciation for Art while
expressing themselves creatively.

On Thursdays, each class will have the wonderful opportunity to experience Music
with our very own Ms. April!  She has been teaching Music at our school for many
years and loves to get the children singing and dancing to fun, silly songs while
incorporating literature with music.

On Fridays, we offer a 20 minute Spanish class for each child.  This
hands-on program is taught with puppets, music and games, making it fun
for the students to learn basic vocabulary.  Knowledge of a second language
is a gift for life.
